Wed. Sept. 13th – “Youth Ensembles – our Traditions”

Location: Woodlawn United Church, Dartmouth, 7pm-9pm

Featuring; Ellenvale Junior High School Celtic Orchestra and Alba Nuadh Ceili Band.

Supporting performances by Shannon Quinn, Celtic Rant, Lewis MacKinnon


Thurs. Sept. 14th – “Giving Celtic Context” ; The Welsh Connection

A public talk and speaking session and includes Welsh, Gaelic and Irish entertainment.

Location: Old Triangle Irish Pub, 6pm-9pm


 Fri. Sept. 15th – Noon Time: Opening & Official Flag Raising Ceremonies.

Location: Grande Parade and Halifax Hall with Mayor Savage.

Opening ceremonies are followed by the sponsors and supporter’s reception. Includes a variety of entertainment, refreshments and the awarding of World Peace Tartan by Celtic Life International

Fri. Evening:  Halifax Celtic Festival Kitchen Party.

Sat. Sept. 16th – Day: Family Day

Location: Halifax Forum MPC

Vendor set up 8 am-10:30am

Doors open at 10:30am

Entertainment from 11am-1pm focuses on youth artists and celebrating the anniversary of the naming of Nova Scotia 396 years of ago with Mayor Savage, Board members and sponsors recognized on stage.

A variety of entertainment until 6pm, including a milling frolic during the day, authentic Celtic food by Delish Fine Foods, genealogy and language lessons, children’s activities and various vendors & displays.

Sat. Evening: Halifax Celtic Festival Canada 150 & Beyond Celebration

Location: Halifax Forum MPC

Doors Re-open at 7pm    

 The Halifax Celtic Festival celebrates Canada’s Birthday with a cultural mix of entertainment. Saturday Night adults only begins at 7pm with a sampling of Nova Scotia produced beverages until 8pm.

Live entertainment such as Papilio, Shannon Quinn, Sheumas, Kyle & Stewart MacNeil of the Barra MacNeils and Ben & Anita, begins at 8pm until 12pm.


Sun. Sept. 17th – Athletics Day

Location: Grave’s Oakley Field


Youth 7’s Rugby tournament will kick off at Graves Oakley Field, which was organized with Rugby NS. Also check out the Spryfield Business Commission’s fundraising BBQ for their JL Ilsley High School scholarship.
